I am uploading like 1 art per 11 months...sorry. I have tons of unfinished stuff - like a lot - on my computer, I will find a way to wrangle it all one day. For now, these two pals. I think I will call them...Gerta and Avonaco which means "Lean Bear" in Cheyenne.
Wow, lovely draw! So wonderful!
Cuuuute! This sort of reminds me of Joseph and Ruth's dynamic in Hell on Wheels...
Yes! She does remind me of Ruth. I really like Hell on Wheels - it got pretty slow and uninteresting in season 2 I thought, but season 3 has been fantastic so far! Although, I do really miss the native American element that used to be more prevalent in the show...wish they would have more characters and episodes that centered on that culture....
I honestly didn't think I would like the show that much. I grew up watching westerns with my grandparents and they always bored me to sleep, but I really like Hell on Wheels. Season 3 has been pretty interesting so far. I miss the Native American aspect too. I keep hoping that Joseph will come back because I really liked his character, but it looks like the writers are trying to steer away from the "Oh no we're being attacked by Injuns" plot... which I can understand. But yes! Lovely drawing! I always get excited when your stuff shows up in my messages!
Yah - what I loved about Joseph's character was his personal conflict. He had emotional ties to different cultures that mostly opposed each other - and seeing him try and find balance between the two was really good. Then he just sorta did the "screw you guys, I'm going home!" thing, although I cant really blame him.
Also, am I the only one thinking they are setting up a romance between Ruth and Bohanan...it was something I never would have suspected, but I kinda like the idea of it.
I just hate how they sort of wrote him out of the show so quickly. I was kinda hoping he would stick around to help Ruth pick up the pieces, buuuuut oh well. They obviously had other things in mind for her because OMG DID YOU SEE SATURDAY'S EPISODE??? I definitely wasn't sniffing in on her and Bohanan's relationship. I didn't pick up on any hints... It sort of came out of nowhere. I think it will be interesting to see where they go with it, though. I didn't think Ruth would be his type...
Ya, it wasn't really me getting hints because their relationship was growing and starting to go into romantic areas - like ya know good writing is suppose to do. It was more...hmm the writers are having Bohanan have little chats after every bad day he has, while looking longingly at her, he didn't do that before - THEY ARE SO HOOKING UP.
It's kinda strange that i want to see the two get together even though their romance has been so poorly written...
I agree. It's like they ran out of love interests and she was the most convenient character available. I just hope they don't go the whole "she's a virtuous woman so therefore she can save the fallen hero" route... "No, Mr. Bohanan, don't seek revenge! COME TO THE LIGHT. I WILL SHOW YOU THE WAAAAAAAAY" as they ride off into the sunset etc., etc. But they probably will since that's about the only option they seem to be leaving open. HRMMMM... I guess we'll see how it all works out! If, you know, they don't decide to kill one of them off first.
That is the real downfall of the show - I can see the story line about a mile ahead, so nothing really feels fresh or original. (The only ep. this season that I felt really did something interesting was with the Mormon family that shot that one guy, and how the young boy was hung. Got some real emotion going there..) But anyways, I guarantee she will be his pure angel that will save his black heart, blah blah blah, she will die or something and he will know what it is to have loved something real and lost it, again. Then he will get all dark again...OH! no no no, because he already lost his wife that was an angel - they will just about start a relationship and then he will call it off because he cannot bare to lose something real again. Guarantee.
Hahah, I feel like we started this conversation with, "oh yeah, Hell on Wheels, I really like that show...now here are all the ways it totally sucks!" hahahah. Well, thankfully we have shows like Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones that really get it right.
